Perfectly possible. 
We built this site in pure HTML (without the larger web builder programs, only using EasyHTML by ToniArts), using Windows XP, Explorer 7, and on a resolution of 1024x768.
Although we try to always check what the pages will look like on other browsers and in other resolutions, it is possible that the layout may not be optimal for your specific viewing conditions.
- Why don't all the pages of this site work?!
Well, with the amount of information there is about Irish Dancing, this may, in time, become a large-ish site. Constructing a site of this kind sort of means writing a book - which takes a lot of time. Also, Dubh Gall being a Belgian organization, we prefer the information on this site to be available in at least two of the three official languages of the country (we have distant dreams of a german version as well, but that's a long-term project), which triples the work. And the time we have to put into it.
But don't worry, we keep working at it, slowly but steadily - check back in now and then and see the progress....
- Then why don't the french pages work?!
Ah.
Those of you who know us, will know why the french pages aren't up yet.
But we thank our friends who have so far helped with translations, and we heartily welcome any volunteers to help with further translation or proofreading.
- Are these pages up to the official standards for internet pages?
Ehm...... no.
Sorry.
To keep the cost low, this site is homemade, and for the time being we have to make do with whatever limited knowledge we have of internet site construction. Which isn't an awful lot, we'll freely admit to that. But again, in time, it'll get better. It's a learning process, just as Irish Dancing itself....
Also, we knowingly decided against the use of flash, java, and other trendy stuff, as those systems are far from foolproof except for visitors who surf with a specfic browser, and we preferred te keep the site nice for all visitors. Furthermore, we know from experience that all these snazzy packaging extras make fast and easy navigation impossible – and this site aims at being informative rather than flashy.
